Brighton Comedy Festival Opening Gala

Always a treat, this star-studded launch to the Brighton Comedy Festival in aid of the Sussex Beacon has maintained its reputation as a knockout start to the festival yet again. Hosted by the impeccable and hugely likeable Adam Hills, jousting with the audience verbally throughout and keeping the room beautifully warmed up, the line-up of Romesh Ranganathan, Jo Brand, and delightful newcomer Elliot Steel romped through the first half. The concluding section was just as awesome, with Hill’s television pal Josh Widdicombe opening the section, shortly joined by Suzi Ruffell – and then our secret headliner Michael McIntyre, on truly delightful form bringing us a sneak peek at some of his new material for next years’ tour, as well as tried and tested bankers. Buy your ticket to next year’s gala as soon as you can – it’s an utterly unmissable staple in every comedy fan’s diary.
