Snap Shot: This week: Peter James, ‘A Twist of The Knife’
Best selling and internationally acclaimed crime writer Peter James’ new book is now out, and being greeted as yet another masterwork from the Brighton author. ‘A Twist of the Knife’ is not a novel but a collection of short stories, where we come to meet James’ great creation and Brighton’s finest detective, Roy Grace, and read the tale that inspired James’ hugely successful novel, ‘Dead Simple’.
The book comprises thirty stories of varying length exploring James’ view that there is something seriously twisted about humanity in general. Each tale carries a twist that will haunt readers for days. As we have come to expect from this master storyteller, every story is a page-turner that will delight his army of fans, as well as first time readers of his work.
My new book, ‘A Twist Of The Knife’, is my first print publication of a volume of short stories. These stories include Roy Grace’s first ever case, as a young uniformed police constable, as well as the story that inspired my first Roy Grace novel, ‘Dead Simple’. There are dark stories with sharp twists, such as one about a restaurant critic who ends up on the menu, as well as some true ghost stories from my experiences of the paranormal.
