SUSSEX DOWNS COLLEGE SKILLS FOR CARE

Sussex Downs College welcomed 100 care providers, representing 64 organisations from across Sussex, to a ‘Skills for Care’ event on Tuesday 2 February at the Kings Restaurant and Bistro on the Eastbourne campus.
The free workshop provided Health and Social Care workers with advice on the new Care Certificate being introduced in 2015. Karen Stevens, Skills for Care Location Manager for Sussex, led the sector conversation.

Fran Ludford (Work Based Learning) and Carol Tomsett (Care Curriculum Leader) both from Sussex Downs College then gave an overview on how quality care is assessed and observed in practice, preparing companies for the introduction of the new certificate.
