Buses: Get On Board
Brighton & Hove Buses
the only way to travel
This week: Groombridge Place
You may not realise it but there are all sorts of interesting and unusual places to visit on the Brighton & Hove bus network – stretching out to Eastbourne, the South Downs, and Groombridge Place to name but a few.
Groombridge Place
Groombridge Place Manor House and its elegant 17th century gardens were used as a location for the 2005 film ‘Pride and Prejudice’.
The Groombridge Place estate is approximately 200 acres and includes a canal, vineyard, arable farmland, and area of ancient woodland. The house is a private residence but the gardens, canal and woodlands have been opened up to the public since the 1990s.
There are plenty of activities for children here. They can enjoy stunning birds of prey displays in the grounds (not on Mondays except Bank Holiday Mondays), or explore the magical mystical Enchanted Forest – an ancient woodland full of very unusual secrets! Events are held here throughout the summer.
Check out the website groombridgeplace.com for more information about what you can do and entry prices.
