The boss of the scandal-hit South East Coast Ambulance trust has stepped down

Paul Sutton took a leave of absence from his £160,000 a year post in March this year after a damning report.

It found fundamental failings into a controversial project which led to delayed response times.

In a statement published today, South East Coast Ambulance Service said Mr Sutton had now left to “pursue other interests.”

A spokesman added the process for finding a permanent replacement will start immediately.
