Neighbourhood Care Scheme tackling elderly isolation wins Queen’s Award

A Brighton care scheme run by charity Impetus has won the Queen’s award for its success in tackling social isolation in the UK.

Loneliness currently affects over 50% of people over the age of 75 in Britain.

And the Neighbourhood Care Scheme is tackling the issue head on, by connecting volunteers with the elderly.
