BREMF LIVE – Fresh Ayre

Nancy Cole, a very clear and accomplished mezzo-soprano, with the talented Wezi Elliott and his lute excelled at the BREMF Programme launch in July. No doubt that short concert attracted vital sponsorship for the main festival, even though Ms Cole was recovering from laryngitis. So it was a treat to hear her in full voice, relaxed and on top form. Wezi’s winning personality showed too when his impressive theorbo tried to be temperamental. The tuning fixed, he accompanied the songs by Dowland and Johnson with great sensitivity. These two are now officially BREMF favourites. Please come back again next year.
