Jess Glynne
Jess Glynne exceeded my expectations by a mile, and they were set rather high. From the support act ‘Raye’, the whole atmosphere was set – lively and interactive. Jess performed like a dream, the chemistry between her and her band was glorious to watch, and is rare to come across. She even gave her backup singers some airtime of their own. The lighting and backdrop told a story, changing with every song, slow songs would have a purple hue with beautiful fades and slow motion video of her in the background. The positivity and love that she spreads is contagious, and not just because she said she wanted to give all 4,000 of us a hug!
At one point, she performed Beyonce’s ‘Deja vu’, a very brave thing to do but she pulled it off. Her voice is so unique, and if anything, sounds better live than it does recorded. She performed her acoustic version of ‘My Love’ which left many people emotionally connected with her. The camera panned around, and focused on people bawling their eyes out. Jess interacted at every opportunity, whether it be to sing along, turn on our phone torches, or answer questions. She even jumped down to the front of the standing crowd and sung inches away from people’s faces. A definite must see, she will blow your mind.
