Events: Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival

A tasty ten-day festival celebrating the best in local producers, growers, restaurants and bars in the city


Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival has a marvellous selection of delights for you to tuck into this Spring Harvest, that will leave you stuffed and fully satisfied. From the Churchill Square Live Food Kitchen & Farmers Market, with foodie demos and workshops, to a variety of hands on children’s food events, including My Daddy Cooks with author Nick Coffer, expect mess, chaos and lots of fun.

For those that like to wet their whistle, the Sussex Beer Festival at Pub du Vin offers over 25 local beers and ciders alongside pub grub and BBQ. If you prefer something a little stronger then The Whisky Lounge Fest! returns with even more distillers and bottlers flocking to the Hilton Brighton Metropole, with plenty of flavours and personalities on display.

The Cakes and Bakes Festival has plenty to tempt you with, including a selection of cake and cookie stalls, and a splash of coffee thrown in for good measure, meaning no-one will be leaving without a cupcake in their hands –or belly. Excitingly the Indulgence Cupcake Company team will host The Brighton Bake Off: The Professionals competition where three top Brighton restaurants battle for cake supremacy. You are also invited to get hands-on with mini cupcake decorating workshops.

Another festival must-see includes the Sussex Gourmet Bus Tour where the vintage routemaster takes you on a culinary tour of Sussex, visiting some of the best food and drink producers and seeing behind the scenes in the company of Sussex foodies. You’’ll enjoy local apple juice and pastry, and stop-off at a chocolatier, an artisan cheese maker and a brewer.
