Book Burning

Book Burning was a one-man surreal rollercoaster ride through the history of political thought, running from Schrödinger’s cat to Wikileaks, totalitarianism, the Occupy movement to book burning, all told against the backdrop of a girl and her father and their cat. You had no idea what was going to happen next and no way of telling what would unfold. Pieter De Buysser had an amazing mastery of the script and the audience, particularly considering English is not his mother tongue. The set was a piece of visual art in itself and the entire audience gazed spellbound as De Buysser built a tiny dollshouse library. A truly original piece of theatre. Five stars hardly does it justice.
