In Transit

A bravura performance from Florence Leon featuring dance, mime and voice made for a compelling and occasionally frightening voyage through one woman’s (Ella’s) life. Leon effortlessly, and wittily, conjured a broad range of contrasting characters who were palpably real. Only rarely did the narrative break down or become confusing. The music provided by bassist Rhys Lovell and guitarist Oli Corrigan created the perfect aural backdrop to Ella’s quest for answers. In the relatively small performance space of the Old Courtroom the drama played out with an exhilarating conviction and immense power. The standing ovation was well deserved. A triumph for all concerned.
