Steve Vai

The Concorde 2 was rammed with fans who had come to worship the guitar god. But as well as demonstrating his stupendously, blisteringly, blitheringly-amazing guitar skillage, Steve Vai certainly knew how to put on a show. He bantered with the crowd and with the drummer, who appeared wearing a glowing skull-festooned portable drum kit. The band created a song from audience suggestions. And as well as playing impossible guitar licks behind his back and with his teeth, Vai appeared covered in lasers, lighting up the room in more ways than one. Station!
