Albion Beam Back Test Raises Over £10,000

The AMEX Stadium hosted its first ever live fibre-optic broadcast as Brighton and Hove Albion picked their first points of the season with a 2-0 win away to Leeds United.

300 Albion fans were in attendance for a scheme set up for those unable to make it to the match. The Leeds game was a trial of the broadcast, which may be introduced to midweek games that are difficult to travel to.

There was also over £10,000 raised in aid of Samantha Bevan, who has advanced cervical cancer. Samantha’s mother Debbie is an employee of Brighton and Hove Albion and was on hand to help raise the money.

Samantha is a mother of two and on average spends around £700 on treatment: “That’s amazing! Thank you to everyone, that’s so much treatment.”
