Brighton Philharmonic Summer Season – Jeremy Young (piano)

The Brighton Connections season continued with Brighton-born Frank Bridge’s ‘Miniatures for Piano Trio’. These three sets of three delightfully contrasting movements were perfect for a summer afternoon. They are so full of invention and melody. Bridge had some very lucky students that he provided them with such treats!
Concert regulars Daniel Bhattacharya (violin) and Peter Adams (cello) were then joined by Ani Batikan (violin) and Roland Roberts (viola) for Haydn’s “Emperor” Quartet, which has at its heart variations on his majestic ‘Kaiserhymne’. When the artists smile to each other so much it’s no wonder the audience enjoy the performance too.
