With classic Stevie Wonder, hot Latin Funk and a couple of million selling love songs delivered with panache in the first half hour, it was clear the jazz-soul legend was here to deliver. A tight band allowed George to fly as he scatted to his own guitar solos and stretched his jazz chops on a dazzling vocalese duet with percussionist Lilliana De Los Reyes. No song introductions were required for this greatest hits set and from a fresh-sounding 40-year-old ‘Breezin’ through dance classics to a triumphant encore of ‘On Broadway’, this was a non-stop celebration of a legend’s finest.
