Ned’s Atomic Dustbin

This show was billed as ‘B-Sides The Seaside (plus live faves)’ but to the crowd each song was a classic. From the first to the last almost every intro was given a mass knowing nod, the opening line was mouthed to the nearest sweat-drenched acolyte and then it was back into the well-behaved mosh pit. A rare experience where performers and audience seemed to share the joyfulness of well-loved and well-delivered songs. John Penney’s vocals and Rat’s guitar stood strong against the twin bassists and the 1990s-fuelled bill began with an exuberant Collapsed Lung who scored big with ‘Eat My Goal’.
