An Evening With Picador Poetry

Picador Poetry celebrated its twenty year anniversary with a stunning evening of performances from Hollie McNish, Glyn Maxwell, Lorraine Mariner, Richard Osmond and Kate Tempest. Introduced by Don Paterson, the poets covered a range of topics from teenage love to ancient Greek soothsayers, from nature to tea, new gods to chaos. There was laughter, thoughtfulness, politics and angst. Each poet had something to say. And then there was Kate Tempest – stepping away from the microphone, combining pieces from several poems together in a passionate performance of modern myths and age-old themes. Wonderful, evocative, compelling and dynamic.
