Latest TV: We can screen your home movies

ltv

Did you know Brighton was the home of the silver screen from the 1890s? Brighton is the birthplace of special effects: the first female filmmaker came from Brighton, the first ever book adaptation, the first war cameraman, the first colour movie and the first, er, blue movie, yes, all from Brighton!

Each day from 6am and 4pm, Latest TV shows a raft of great British movies and some classic Hollywood ones too, including some fantastic gems made in our fair city. The great Laurence Olivier, Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan all pop up on a regular basis.

A shout out for local historic footage

Talking Pictures TV, our great film partners have hundreds of new classic films to show as well as vintage love films ready for Valentine’s Day. Plus the series Glimpses which looks at local historic films made by the public around the UK. Latest TV are asking all Brighton & Hove residents to submit their home movies (no blue movies please!), the earlier the better. So if you have any footage from 1930 through to the ‘70s or even earlier showing our city when it was two bustling towns, then please contact us at tracey@thelatest.co.uk. Latest TV can work with any footage format to change these into broadcastable films to share with our film and Brighton loving audience.
