5 Margaret Cho’s trip over from her native Stateside fortunately includes a Brighton date on her UK tour. Savagely cuttingly funny and self-reflective, Fresh Off The Bloat takes its name from Cho’s mother’s description of her in the midst of her drugs and alcohol abuse, and focusses on coming back to life and returning from those addictions and suicide. 6 History buffs and jokesters unite for this acclaimed touring show – Stand-Up History. Comedians bring history back to life, peppered with punchlines and dead interesting titbits from the past. Described as charming, nerdy and having featured at the National Museum of Scotland and Mervyn Stutters’ Pick of the Fringe, this is an engaging format to emerge in the comedic subsection currently spearheaded by the likes of QI and Festival of the Spoken Nerd. What fun to get clever!
Komedia, Wednesday 29 November, 8pm £10
