5 Who else would endeavour to set up a .comedy club in a refugee camp in Palestine? Mark Thomas is pushing to celebrate freedom of speech in a place where any freedoms are precious. He tells the tale alongside Faisal Abu Alhayjaa and Alaa Shehada, two performers, actors and now aspiring comics from the club, of this ambition and struggle in the most trying and unlikely of places. Showtime From The Frontline is sold out, but turn up on the night and hope for returns.

6 Following in the great traditions of .impressive venues, the Brighton Dome is starting the New Year hosting the titular Live At Brighton Dome. Hosting skills fall to the ever-talented and brilliant Daniel Kitson, with comedy poet and Alan Partridge co-star Tim Key headlining, supported by All Killa No Filla podcaster and Gein’s Family Giftshop member Kiri Pritchard-McLean, and The Mash Report’s Nish Kumar. Hoping to be the first in a series of regular Dome comedy mixed bill nights.
