The Story of Bart

Lionel Bart is well known as the genius behind the musical Oliver, less so for the million selling hits he wrote for British singing talent, including Cliff Richard and Tommy Steele, throughout the sixties.

In The Story Of Bart, John Barr takes us on a fast-paced biographical journey from the heady days of success in Chelsea to his ultimate demise in a small flat in Acton at the end of the nineties.

Joining Barr are a tight cast and band who merge classic songs with a fascinating and frank insight into swinging London and the damaging consequences that fame can bring.
