This week: singer/songwriter Laura Luard

“My songs are about freedom, taking risks and doing the things I always wanted to do. It is a bluesy folk song that I wrote, called ‘I Can dance’, which got me through to the Regional Final of Live & Unsigned. I am a songwriter but in Brighton I work mainly as a singer in cabaret sketches, usually at Komedia or the Proud Brighton Ballroom.”

Local singer/songwriter Laura Luard competed against hundreds of talented artists at the Regional Final auditions of Live & Unsigned 2012. She is now through to the Regional Final Showcase on Sunday 29 April at The Hove Centre with the opportunity to progress towards the Grand Final at Live Fest, The O2 in London. Live & Unsigned is the biggest original music competition in the UK for unsigned bands and artists, attracting over 50,000 entries in the past five years.
