Brighton footballers charged over sex attack
Three Brighton and Hove Albion footballers and a former team-mate have been charged with sexually assaulting a woman and voyeurism.
Lewis Dunk, Anton Rodgers and George Barker are accused of the offences with along with Steve Cook, who has since joined Bournemouth.
The four are due to appear before Brighton magistrates on Friday next week (11 May) after having been arrested in January.
The offences are alleged to have happened at the Jury’s Inn Hotel by Brighton Station on Sunday 17 July last year after the Sussex Senior Cup Final.
Sussex Police said that Dunk, 20, of Woodbourne Avenue, Hollingbury, Rodgers, 19, and Barker, 20, of Highview Avenue North, Patcham, and Cook, 21, of Perth Road, St Leonards, had been bailed.
The four who were charged today (Monday 30 April) were among six players arrested on Thursday 19 January.
The other two were Tommy Elphick, 24, who was quickly eliminated from the investigation, and Ben Sampayo, 19, who has not been charged and faces no further no action.
