Jane Bom-Bane’s House

Having told the story of how the restaurant started (Bom-Bane’s: The Musical), and the building itself (A Musical History 24 George Street) in previous festivals, café owner cum cabaret chanteuse, Jane Bom-Bane, opened the upstairs of her house for this year’s Fringe. This tiny tour up and down higgledy-piggledy staircases reveals different rooms each with a theme and song. Along the way we met mermaids, voices of the dead, and flamenco dancers in the attic, and the rooms’ themes are constantly changing encouraging revisits, as does the eat-as-much-as-you-like buffet. Bom-Bane’s atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and just a little quirky, and the show didn’t disappoint.
