Avenue Q
Unlike some shows which tour and tour again, Avenue Q seems to be tireless. Maybe it’s the first class cast, maybe the great production value, maybe even the tighter than tight band – or maybe the superb concept and great material. Whatever it is, this show kept us grinning and laughing out loud from start to finish and at the end prompted a well earned ovation. I’m too old to remember Sesame Street, just about young enough to have enjoyed The Muppets but none of that matters. Behind the humour is a strong message too about the human condition – stop taking life so seriously, enjoy your flaws, celebrate your failings and just get on with it.
