Stewart Francis – Out Standing In His Field

The Canadian is known as one of the great one-line/pun-based stand ups on the circuit and this show did not disappoint. There was a good mix of well crafted jokes together with the downright silly, bordering on lollypop stick gags. There was no overriding theme to the evening, just a veritable machine gun of jokes. The only break was the imaginative ‘Q&A’, which had no audience participation but a pre-recorded discussion with… er… himself! The odd recurring pun was a joy, as if the build-up line was delivered earlier only for the detonation punchline to reappear later in the set. A little short in length but worth seeing when he comes back in the Autumn.
