CelebCity with Jo Brooks: Peter Andre percolating Brighton
Peter Andre percolating Brighton, Jazz Lintott in celluloid, and Kayvan Novak about town
Peter Andre is finalising plans to open his Brighton coffee shop which is rumoured to be opening near the clock tower later this year. The site is set to be much bigger than his original East Grinstead store. Peter has been a big fan of the city since moving to the area with ex-wife, and born and bred Brightonian, Katie Price. No doubt he’ll be visiting his favourite local haunts such as The Lanes Health and Beauty salon to make sure he’s looking perfect for the launch.
all that jazz
It’s been a busy year for ex-Brighton college student and actor/producer Jazz Lintott. The local star has left his place on BBC One’s The Real Hustle – where he spent his time tricking members of the public alongside glamorous celebrity assistants – to turn his hands to other ventures. Recently filming alongside stars such as Steven Berkoff (of whom he is a life long fan) and Claude Van Damme in recent projects. His latest film, Money And Grime, combines his interest in the music scene with his acting and producing skills. He has also produced music videos for artists such as N-Dubz, Giggs and Toploader. Jazz’s new film looks at the birth of the UK grime scene and therefore is set to have a pretty hardcore soundtrack, combining both old-school hits with original material from the artists involved. With names such as Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah and Ashley Walter’s said to be involved it sounds as if our local lad has his hands full. Keep an eye out for Jazz in Money And Grime, as well as all his exciting upcoming features – including a role alongside Samuel L. Jackson next year.
pretty boys all in a row
Okay, so in case you felt the one thing lacking from the Brighton landscape was our very own take on One Direction then worry no longer – South 4 are here! Brighton lad, Oli Evans, has joined forces with Shoreham local, Luke Newton, alongside two other Ken doll look-a-likes picked up at Brit school, to create a boyband which is presumably all about the music. The promo shots for their latest single – the provocatively named ‘Cougar Town’ – sees the boys naked, draped in a Union Jack flag; what more could a young girl want? Well perhaps Zayn Malik or Harry Styles – but we’re sure these guys will do for now. Good Luck to South 4, their debut single launches on Monday 2 July. In the mean time you can check them out at: www.facebook.com/south4music.
sweet smell of success
The founder of (the delicious) Green and Blacks chocolate – acclaimed beauty journalist (author of the popular Beauty Bible) – Josephine Fairley, popped to Brighton recently to see what it had to offer. She scouted out the East Street oasis Aloka: Quality of Life Centre and then raved about their Pegasus perfumes in the National Geographic magazine. We’ve long been fans of the product here in the office so It’s great to see the brand, which is only available in Aloka, Brighton, doing so well. Make sure you stop by next time you’re in the Lanes and find a scent that works naturally with you.
