The Electric Light Orchestra Experience

In terms of sounding like E.L.O, this touring tribute act were pretty good. The group can be a dirty word in musician circles, their unique drum production an opinion splitter. Love it or loathe it, the ‘Experience’ matched this well. E.L.O.’s bombastic theatrical style straddled the worlds of classical and rock music (another reason for their divisiveness) and the inclusion of two cellist’s brought the music on the night nearer to the original, though sound levels/mixing meant they were drowned out in the first half. With all the hits covered previously and the crowd going mental, ‘Mr Blue Sky’ brought this fun night to a close.
