WONDERFULLY ENJOYABLE END OF THE PIER SHOW!

Funny, energetic and life-affirming, the End of The Pier show at Brighton Palace Pier is a time-travelling-pure-entertainment-odyssey. With cheeky puns, and newsy,  modern asides, and wonderful dance routines, the cast know how to put on a show! Co-written and co-produced by radio presenter Allison Ferns and choreographer Jack Pallister, this 45 minute sparkling show builds on and heralds the return of classic fun entertainment to the pier.

Young viewers and families are delighted by the seaside-y atmosphere and the interaction with the cast.  The young cast have bags of talent and joie-de-vivre, and appreciate that showtime means putting the audience first!  The lively music, tap-dancing and songs, taking in over 120 years of entertainment is perfect.

Jack Pallister is to be applauded for the dances which seem both traditional and modern at the same time! It feels like a particularly good feel-good movie-musical from the 1920s that is also raved about on tiktok and insta! And the Ferns-Pallister script is a joy with mentions of Swifties, Stormzy, selfies and AI as well as a spin through the many decades of Brighton Palace Pier entertainment, taking in Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, Ronnie Corbett and the Spice Girls and Abba! Even fish and chips get a traditional – modern song! “Do you do a vegan option for fish and chips” “Of course we do a vinegar option, the chips would be rather dry without”!

The show includes lots of audience interaction with spoon playing and pantomime style shout-outs. The cast: Neith Alexandra, Louise Newington, Alex Kail, Ted Brickley and Evie Newman, collectively the Palace Pier Performers, look like they are having a ball and the pace is exciting throughout. “Are you ready to bring back seaside entertainment to the pier?” they ask the audience, and Brighton shouts back YES!! With rousing applause! More please! Billed for young people, the show is entertaining for all ages, and reckon it would delight older audiences just as much.

It’s a smashing 5 star show!  Catch it while you can!

Tickets including booking fee are £6 from brightonpalacepier.co.uk which also includes free entry to the pier. Daily shows until Thursday August 22nd.
