AGHAST do not welcome the Gasworks Development, here’s why…
Latest TV’s Angi Mariani spoke with Marie Sansford, a member of AGHAST! Brighton, to understand their concerns around the development of the Gasworks site in East Brighton, which has been given the go-ahead for developers St Williams (Berkeley Group) to build 495 homes on the site. The main issue is that many residents and businesses close to the area believe that the risk of contamination has not been fully addressed and that the north side of the site is too contaminated to be built on at all, whether it includes affordable homes or not. The hydrocarbon hazards are significant and AGHAST need help to fight this development before the second appeal deadline.
