Over The Moon Festival 2012

As the new moon drifts over the warm horizon, a sprinkling of magic falls on the people as they sing…

“You give a little love and it all comes back to you…”Over the Moon Festival is a celebration of life described through the arts, with a host of local, national and international musicians, inspirational talks, installation art, theatrical performances, circus, cabaret, film and so much more.

The theme for this year’s event is “The Great Journey” represented by installations and performances designed to take your mind on an adventure, to kindle the wonders of the imagination, the mystery of dreams, and the sensation that just about anything might happen.

Expect a heady mix of musical flavours across three stages, supported by countless intimate environments chosen for their diversity, to create and hold in balance an inspirational festival experience. OM is all about participation and, among the activities on offer, there will be opportunities to take music lessons, bush-craft, stone-carving, blacksmithing & wood turning workshops, ecoawareness talks, yoga, tai-chi & reiki classes, or to get involved in flash mob art installations.

In this day and age, when so many things are changing, it is important to stay in touch with the ideas and ideals of the people around us, locally and from far and wide. In reflection of this we will be holding inspirational talks on subjects from astronomy to astrology, renewable energy to nutritional supplements, given by speakers at the forefront of their fields.

The beautiful healing area, featuring treatments, workshops and classes, is set around the Peace Circle which, although moved, still holds the heart from which our festival family grew. In this place you can take time to meditate or find healing with our festival friends around the fire.

Over the Moon is an intimate, non-corporate affair with a strong emphasis on environmental awareness. The event is predominantly powered on solar energy, with supplementation from wind power and bio diesel. Many of the talks and workshops will also be focused on ways in which we can learn to live in harmony with the environment. In addition our wide selection of food traders will cater to every pallet with ethically sourced produce.

Over the Moon is a community event that represents, includes and welcomes all. As such there will be activities and entertainments to suit folk of all ages with accessibility being a key concern. Family is of paramount importance and when we open our doors it is with the intention of broadening our festival family and
yours.

Over the Moon is the latest creation from the Out Of the Ordinary team who, after five years producing OOTO Festival, have decided the time has come to take a step into the new. For 2012 we will be taking that step in the form of one giant leap… Over the Moon.

We invite you to join us in finding our way into the sky, to a place that dreams are made of, where the clocks stop and your imagination is set free to roam. Join us Over the Moon and be part of the magic as it unfolds…
