Meerkat Works walk 100 miles for the Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice

Heidi Carroll and the team from Brighton company Meerkat Works took on a challenge with a difference this month. They walked 100 miles along the South Downs Way in a relay to raise funds for the Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice.

Walking with the Meerkats team were Open Outdoor, CBS,KISS100, The Guardian, Global Radio, The Financial Times, Pleece & Co, Smooth Radio,Real Radio, News International, Fin and Farm and Just Seychelles.

The walk took five consecutive days. “Through working with Chestnut Tree House we have had the opportunity to see first hand the great work they do for sick children and their families,” says Heidi of Meerkat Works. “Chestnut Tree House is the only children’s hospice in Sussex and cares for children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses from all over the county.

“The essential care and respite for these children, young people and their families can only be sustained by charitable donations. Some families are intensively nursing their children 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For them CTH provide life-saving support and respite where parents can rest easy knowing their children are receiving the best care and attention with access to all the facilities they need.

“The cost of providing this support is enormous – around £6,850 per day. So please donate generously as every penny is so much appreciated by the children and their families who need this vital service.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
