Alexi Sayle

The “Godfather of Alternative Comedy” made a triumphant return to stand-up after a 16-year absence. Despite turning 60 and trialling new material, Sayle hasn’t lost any of the biting wit, political ire and ironic “bottom wiggling” that made his name in the early Eighties. The show encompasses a look back at his career, savage attacks on fellow “comedians” (in particular Ben Elton) and Sayle’s sense of the absurd remains as keen as ever. Any comedy fans under the age of 30 should see this man and discover how stand-up should be done. Funniest thing I saw at the whole comedy festival.
