This week: Artist Greg Allum

“My books are an extension of my art – my photography. Carbon is a collection of poetry, it is erotic but it is also about death. It is about the decay of the body and mind, and about relationships and getting over them.
A journey of emotions; it’s about letting go.”

The work of Brighton resident and artist Greg Allum, deals with themes of love, loss and isolation. Greg won several awards for his photography and in recent years has published two books which have sold in 25 countries. His new book Carbon features the 17-chapter poem to the award-winning photography series ‘A Serenade To The Ghost’ and ‘Corridors of Love’ which was shortlisted for the Fish International Short Story Prize. Greg’s books are printed in limited editions and are signed and numbered.
His photography uses traditional film methods in medium format and 35mm, solely using natural light and urban backdrops.
