Episode 18: Lewes Bonfire, Murder in the Escalator, and much more..

When you think of fireworks you think London, Paris, Sydney. Well, think again. The biggest Bonfire Night bash is in Lewes. We broke our budget (sorry George Osborne) and bought Mark Allen a few bangers and sparklers and sent him there. Normally you might get arrested turning up in Lewes like that, but on 5 November you get arrested if you don’t turn up with them (note to anyone official — that line was a joke!). We expected Mark to go: “ooh, aah, look at that, wow, amazing,”but he insisted on using his own uniquely funny voice on his report of Lewes Bonfire Night.
Also on Brighton Lights presented by Val Aviv (fresh from her starring role in ‘Brighton Zombies’ — Brighton Lights, episode 17) is a tribute to one of Brighton’s greatest clubs, Subterfuge. Some of you will remember eighties when Paul Kemp’s Subterfuge emerged, and some of you may even have recovered! Jez Eaton’s report on Subterfuge is in this week’s show.
Mad Man Matt Whistler traps Paul Zenon in a lift for comedic purposes and Robert Cohen profiles Shoreham artist Katie Sollohub.
Finally Bill Smith runs into football pundit Dan Tester in a bar and they discuss the Albion for hours. Luckily, we edited it down to two minutes.
With music by Eminemmylou and The Bobby McGee’s you can watch watch Brighton Lights at thelatest.tv and if you want to be involved in making our marvellously magnificent musical masterpieces come to our meetings at Latest Musicbar on Tuesdays at 5.30pm. Don’t be late!
