Celeb City: Paloma Faith

Paloma Faith & Gemma Arterton support The Martlet’s, plus James Morrison& Victoria Beckham

Own PAlOMA’s bag!
Paloma Faith – who rocked the Brighton centre last week – has teamed up with the likes of Bond actress Gemma Arterton to donate designer bags to raise money for Brighton’s Martlet’s Hospice. Sussex girls Davina McCall and Zoe Ball have also given bags to the Handbags for Hospices appeal to support the Martlet’s fantastic services. Handbags For Hospices is the brainchild of mums Abigail Bowen, from Brighton and Lucy Wilkes from Lewes. They’re asking ladies from across the county to dig out their unwanted handbags for a charity auction to raise much-needed cash for their local hospices. The appeal’s spectacular launch will take place at Pub du Vin Ballroom, Ship Street, Brighton on Thursday 28 February (tickets £5) and will showcase the best bags.

Known for her quirky sense of style we’re more than excited to see what Paloma will give up! They still need good quality donations (any make) for their next events so contact them on info@handbagsforhospices.com or visit www.handbagsforhospices.com for more info.

Copy of Latest Homes, Adele?
From growing up in a small flat above a shop in London, Oscar-nominated singer Adele has come a long way. Last week it was reported that the ‘Rolling In The Deep’ singer has transferred ownership of a £600,000 apartment in Notting Hill to her long-suffering mum! This means she can spend more time concentrating on the rest of her property portfolio – estimated to be worth at least £10million – including her £2.5million beach-side pad in Brighton. Hopefully we’ll see even more of her in the coming months then.

Noisy neighbour?
Keep an ear out for snatches of James Morrison’s new album next time you’re out and about. The singer/songwriter recently announced that he has installed recording equipment at his property in Brighton to work on his next album, a follow up to 2011’s Platinum selling The Awakening. In order to spend more time with his young daughter, Elsie, Morrison has now become a work-from-home dad.

He explained: “I’ve got a nice little room set up in my house. I’ve got a drum kit there. It’s exciting for me. I’m not [Led Zeppelin drummer] John Bonham, but I can scrape a beat together then work it into the computer and spit it out the other end. And that’s the thing, if you’ve got it, you can practise. I’ve never really had the space to do that until now.”

Speaking on behalf of Brighton at large he continued: “There’s not really anyone around that’s gonna complain – other than [my partner] Gill! So it’s alright. I don’t think I’m gonna do anyone’s head in… That’s the whole point. So I can make music and be with Elsie.”

We look forward to hearing how Morrison gets on with a bit of home production – in between a bit of Polly Pocket and Teddy Bears Picnics…

Katie Price gives advice to Posh
Katie Price has suggested a trip to Brighton to her long-term enemy Victoria Beckham! Responding to pictures of Victoria Beckham snapped in a London Fish and Chip shop Katie told Heat Magazine that it was about time Mrs Beckham welcomed into her ‘world of chav’. In a public letter to the HRH Queen Wag, Jordan suggested “A day with me eating doughnuts on Brighton Pier would do you the world of good.” We all could do with a bit of advice from Ms Price it seems!
