Hove burglary victim offers £500 reward for return of diamond ring

A valuable diamond ring was stolen from a flat in Hove during a burglary.

The victim has offered a £500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the theft.

Sussex Police said that the flat in Wilbury Road, Hove, was burgled between 6.45am and 1.30pm on Thursday 7 March.

The ring was described as having a white gold band with diamonds on the face shaped like an eye.

Other items taken during the burglary include cash, a silver Cartier watch and a green iPod.

Detective Constable Paul Candy, from the Brighton and Hove Priority Crime Unit, said: “The crime was reported to police on (Sunday) 24 March when the victim decided to wear the ring for an evening out and realised that it was missing.

“She is very upset at having been burgled but devastated that an item of such sentimental value has been taken and has offered a reward of £500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the theft.”

He urged anyone who had been offered a diamond ring for sale in suspicious circumstances or who had information that could help police with their inquiries to get in touch.

He said that callers could phone Sussex Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 111555.
