Woman hurt in bus crash in Brighton

A woman was hit by a bus in North Street in Brighton just before 3pm this afternoon (Friday 5 April).

She was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Kemp Town but was not believed to be suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed while the emergency services dealt with the incident between the junctions with Ship Street and West Street, just down from the Clock Tower.

Brighton and Hove Buses started some services from the Old Steine instead of Churchill Square for a while.

The company said on Twitter that services were running late for a couple of hours and there were traffic jams in the surrounding area.
