Hatful of Rain

Local Americana quartet, Hatful of Rain’s jaunty tunes, melancholic melodies and heartfelt folk enrapt a capacity crowd for over two hours. The mutli-instrumentalists moved mellifluously between mandolin, banjo, guitar and double bass and despite a brief interruption caused by a violin bow malfunction, they remained the pinnacle of professionalism throughout. From accomplished acapellas to impressive fiddle solos they are a band who demand repeat viewing. Special mention must go to the high sound quality which picked up every band member sublimely and I’d have to concur with folk expert Mike Harding that “they are very, very good indeed.”
