Celebcity: Olly Smith supports Rockinghorse

5ive announces new tour, Frankie Sandford has some good advice, Olly Smith supports Rockinghorse & JBPR goes stateside

Marathan man
Congratulations to Olly Smith – local wine expert and presenter of The Secret Supper Club on Channel 4 who recently raised £13,300 for Rockinghorse charity by running the London Marathon. He called upon celebrity friends John Torode, Gordon Ramsay and Sir Roger Moore to achieve his goal and they donated more than generously!

Olly has strong personal reasons for running the Marathon for Rockinghorse. The charity is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) and from its beginning, a vital supporter of the Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU).

He explains: “My youngest daughter Lily was treated at the Alex last year after a nasty blow to the head when she suffered a very small bleed on the brain. The staff there offered the perfect balance of care and medical expertise to help us through that tricky time.”

Brighton in the Big Apple
Last week JBPR straddled two sides of the pond – which means our gossip comes both from sunny Brighton and New York, New York! Travelling stateside to launch the fantastic ‘Lost Then Found’ Andy Warhol portrait show – which featured never before seem images of the art icon, lost since 1981 – it seems only fair that we provide you with a bit of the gossip! In between small talk with rock chick Courtney Love et al, we actually caught up with one of Brighton’s finest. Norman Cook – aka dance legend Fatboy Slim – attended the show opening down in the trendy Meatpacking District. With such a stellar party marking the launch, us JBPR girls were honoured to be a part of it, and it was great to have a friendly Brighton face around!
