Eat A Queer Foetus For Jesus

It’s hard not to be enticed by a title as eye-catching as this show (or is it just me?). Would the show live up to its shocking name? Well there wasn’t any foetuses on the menu thankfully but comic Richard Coughlan put on a platter of raw and meaty material which was in truth a little underwhelming.

Racists, rapists and nasty politicians were all given the once over, which was funny, but the moments of true cutting wit were too far apart and caused one too many awkward silences. Having said that, the closing part of his show revealed a real gift for compelling storytelling. Perhaps Coughlan’s real talents are yet to be revealed.
