Nick Pynn and Kate Daisy Grant

On a stage filled with every stringed instrument imaginable (including one Pynn had made himself), Nick Pynn and Kate Daisy Grant played a two hour gig that hit both the heart and the head. The first half placed the emphasis on Pynn’s complex, primarily instrumental work that made first class use of loop and effects pedals. Grant was the focus of the second part; she charmed the audience with songs alternately silly and beautiful with two standout numbers showcasing her delicate yet powerful voice. The musicians’ styles complimented each other nicely and made for a superb night of music.
