The Big Reunion

Look past the obvious (upcoming group tours, new albums and new-found wealth for the bands) and this was a fun, nostalgic night for the largely 20-something sell-out crowd. Featuring (four of) 5ive, The Honeyz, B*Withed, 911, Liberty X and Atomic Kitten (Blue had pulled out: insert own assumption here), this reality TV-born show let us revisit ’90s pop in all its glory. It’s been 15 years since I fell in love with 911 at the Brighton Centre, and it all came flooding back: the cheeky chappy banter, the sweet singing, and the ’90s boy band dancing (what’s not to love?!). 5ive very nearly blew the roof off the place; B*Witched were pure pop fun; The Honeyz’ ballads were perfect and Atomic Kitten (read: Kerry Katona) were reality stars epitomised. Some I would have like to have seen more of, and more money and effort could have gone on the set and props. But for one night, I was 13 years old again, and it was great.
