Judge orders Brighton murder suspect to stay in prison until trial

Brighton murder suspect Ricardo Pisano has been told that he must stay in prison while he awaits trial.

Pisano, 35, of Methuen Street, Southampton, appeared at Lewes Crown Court this morning (Tuesday 14 May) when he applied for bail.

He is accused of murdering 62-year-old Michael Polding at his flat in St George’s Road in Kemp Town.

Mr Polding’s body was found at his home on Monday 16 July last year and was believed to have been there for two months.

Pisano was also charged with wounding Mr Polding and preventing the lawful and decent burial of a body.

Judge Richard Brown, the Recorder of Brighton and Hove, turned down the bail application and set a date for a plea and case management hearing on Friday 2 August.

A full trial has been pencilled in for late October or early November.
