Suggs: My Life Story

You could argue this performance was a piece of theatre as Suggs, lead singer from 70’s-80’s ska orientated band Madness, took the enthralled audience on a journey through his past. From rough beginnings in London (brought up by single mum in ‘tough’ conditions) to butcher’s apprentice, the Madness years and then TV work. All draped over the story arc of his cat dying, his 50th birthday and the search for a father he never knew. It was an exquisitely written script; tight, informative and punctuated with songs from his life. Delivered by a talented, quintessentially English and still energetic performer. I salute the life of Mr Graham McPherson: a.k.a – Suggs.
