How Our Dreams Influence The Arts

The title was a bit of misnomer, as the talk didn’t really discuss either our dreams or the arts in general. In fact it was a critique of three films in light of psychoanalytic theory and surrealism, but no introduction to these theories or to dream theory was given. The talk was clearly an academic paper such as would be presented at a conference and Dr Piotrowska read it out word for word from a printout. It was very heavy, difficult to follow and, other than the film clips, not really accessible or entertaining for the non-specialist general public.
