Brighton Pride: Iconic

From Freddie to Madonna, dress up as your favourite LGBT community icon for summer’s biggest party: Brighton Pride 2013

Brighton Pride is on the horizon and the celebrated LGBT spectacular is getting closer by the day. The LGBT parade is one of the highlights of Pride as it snakes through the heart of the city to Preston Park. This amazing spectacle features floats and groups from Pride’s supporters and voluntary sector. This year’s ‘Icons’ theme is bound to be the inspiration for many with participants dressed as people who have been icons to the LGBT community. Expect plenty of Marilyns, Gagas, Madonnas and Freddie Mercurys!

Excitement is building in Brighton about the festival at Preston Park (‘Icons on the Park’) too, especially since the announcement of names for the main stage: Paloma Faith, The original Sugababes line-up (Mutya, Keisha, Siobhan), Ms Dynamite and the legendary Alison Moyet are all set to perform.

Elsewhere in the park, the top attractions make a return including the Wild Fruit tent, Women’s Dance Tent, Cabaret Tent, Calabash Tent and Women’s Performance Tent as well as the Funfair and Community Village, among a wide range of attractions.

Alongside the new Pride Arts & Film festival (Friday 19 July –Sunday 4 August) Pride is now bigger and better than ever. £12.50 tickets available now, with £17.50 tickets available from July.
