2013 Brighton and Hove Business Awards
The 8th Brighton and Hove Business Awards, presented by Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, were held in Horatio’s Bar on Brighton Pier on Thursday 6 June. A fish ‘n’ chip supper, candy floss and fairground rides ensured this was a typical Brighton night out. Some of the Brighton’s biggest and best – and youngest and newest – made the 32 finalists shortlisted for 13 awards in this year’s Brighton and Hove Business Awards. www.bahba.co.uk
Your Boss Is A Drag
A Miss World style pageant competition, ‘Your Boss is a Drag’, took place at Charles Street Bar on 5 June. A selection of Brighton’s business executives entered the challenge dressed in drag, competing in several rounds in front of a judging panel and live audience. The event, organised by Briggy Smale, was in support of TB Alert and an opportunity for businesses to promote their boss. The panel of judges included Trudy Styles, Dolly Rocket and Jonesy. TB Alert raised over £8,000.

Peter James’ book launch
Thursday 6 June saw the launch of Dead Man’s Time, Peter James’ ninth book in the award-winning Roy Grace series. The launch took place at the Amex Stadium where over 500 friends and fans were treated to bespoke cocktails based on the key characters from the series and a sneak peak at the exciting new novel.
Dead Man’s Time starts with a vicious robbery at a secluded Brighton mansion, leaving its elderly occupant dying and millions taken in valuables.
