Romeo & Juliet

Okay, you’ve probably seen R&J a hundred times before (and as such I won’t labour over describing the plot). In truth, I’ve got a tad bored with it over the years. However, what I like about Rainbow Theatre is their ability to draw you in, it’s accessible and you’re part of a performance (as audience members would have expected in old Will’s time). And viewing it outside (in the beautiful Highdown Gardens) gives it a different perspective; audience battling with soaring temperatures, actors battling to be heard over rustling trees and the popping of a bottle of Cava. A professional production but retained the rough and readiness I like. A treat!
