The Peacocks

Switzerland is famous for many things but rockabilly bands isn’t one of them. That all changed with this powerhouse trio’s set of rock ‘n’ roll inspired killer tunes. With singer/guitarist Hasu chopping out licks on a low-slung Gretsch and double-bassist Simon slapping out the rhythm while dancing with his instrument, they mixed anthemic originals, including a crowd-pleasing ‘Gimme More’, with covers ranging from an authentic ‘Cut Across Shorty’ to The Rezillos covering Fleetwood Mac. By the end the band were soaked through, as were many of their very happy fans. Strong support came from local psychobilly wildcats, The Hillmans.
